I love food.
I didn’t realize how much I also love to cook until I stepped back from work. That’s not to say I don’t dread it some evenings or even throw in the towel and order out because that definitely happens. However, cooking has become a way to not only save money, but to also “give” to the people I love. I’m the only one out of our friend group that doesn’t “go to work”, but I remember how difficult it could be to work and then come home to cook. So on weeknights when friends come over, I love knowing I’m able to offer up a little relief to what I consider the most stressful part of the day. Especially those friends who have to cook around their food allergy that nobody else in the house shares.
Speaking of food allergies, two of my best girls, Chloe and Ali, have food allergies. Chloe is dairy-free and Ali follows a FODMAP diet + Gluten-free diet. Both of them came across this realization very recently so I’ve been doing my best to learn all there is to know considering cooking has become my gift to my people.
I’m not amazing at cooking, but I’m pretty mid… which is good for us mid-lifers.
If you or someone you know follows one or both of those diets, follow the links below. I intend on adding more information to each page as time goes.
